The Chelsea owner, the Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, wants to buy Sergio Aguero and Diego Godin from Atletico Madrid, and offers 61 million euros.

The management of Atletico Madrid rejects the incredible offer for the two players coming from England but says that this is not the only offer: "Yesterday, I received an offer of 45 million for Aguero from Real Madrid and I have refused. We will not negotiate with Real or any other club the transfer of Aguero" said an official at Atletico.
In this season, the Atletico Madrid star, Kun Aguero, scored seven goals in 15 matches in the Primera Division while Diego Godin, the most expensive defender in Atletico Madrid, has played in 12 matches.

The first FIFA Golden Ball goes to Messi

Date: 11 Jan 2011 Comments:0

The Argentine won the FIFA Golden Ball with 22.65% of the votes, although his colleagues from  FC Barcelona, Iniesta (17.36%) and Xavi (16.48%) were the big favorites.

"FIFA Ballon d’Or" 2010, awarded for the first time in history after merging "the Golden Ball" of the France Football with the "FIFA World Player" gave yesterday a surprising winner. Although he was credited with the last chance before his  teammates from FC Barcelona, Iniesta and Xavi Lionel Messi won. Even he admitted: "I did not expect to get this trophy".

In the outcome of the gala hosted by the "Congress Palace" in Zurich the talent won against the performance. Although he only won the title and Spanish Super Cup and and Xavi and Iniesta won the World Cup (Iniesta scored in the final), the Argentinian midfielder – "Golden Ball" and "FIFA World Player" in 2009 – was honored for extraordinary matches in the Blaugrana shirt. Even "Marca" from Madrid, said: "Tough blow for Spanish football, which has not won the Golden Ball since 1960. But we must recognize, however, that Messi is a unique player".

208 nationa team coaches, 208 captains and 154 journalists (collaborators of "France Football") voted for the FIFA Golden Ball 2010.

Xavi – All the three of us deserve the Golden Ball

Date: 9 Jan 2011 Comments:0

Xavi Hernandez was in a big form at the photo shoot for the cover of the "France Football Weekend". Together with his team mates Lionel Messi and Andreas Iniesta, the Barcelona midfielder posed for the French magazine last issue, before announcing the winner of the Golden Ball, on January 2010.

Under the headline "And the winner is …", the three stars of Barcelona appear dressed in team shirts, lying on the back, smiling and trying a funny hug, a image of solidarity that characterizes the Barcelona football philosophy and "La Masia" where all 3 grew up.

Although the Gazzetta dello Sport wrote several weeks ago that the winner will be Andres Iniesta, there are new rumors that state that Xavi Hernandez will win the Golden Ball trophy.

Asked by the french journalists who deserves the trophy, Xavi spoke through laughter: "On how much money FIFA wins, you could not ask them to give a trophy to each of us? That would be brilliant, right?"
The journalists answer came promptly: "If it were us, we would be delighted".
